Structural Advantage

Compact is the core of SCOUT structure design. Under the premise of ensuring the function, SCOUT can easily travel to the ordinary elevator room can be placed in the trunk of the car and quickly be deployed.The high platform design component also improves the passing ability of obstacles and greatly increases the workable application environment. SCOUT uses a four-wheel drive function. Each wheel uses 200 watt standalone brushless servo motor as the power, and adopts a double wishbone independent suspension.which greatly improve the adaptability to the terrain of car body while ensuring enough power. It can be applied in the wild environment and easily climb over 10cm obstacles.

In order to meet different terrain and environmental requirements, SCOUT uses 13-inch pneumatic tires, which can be equipped with three types of tires: road/grass/mud Safety rails or peripheral brackets can also be installed around the vehicle for easily available in the field and special environments.

Modular Peripheral

As a universal chassis design, SCOUT has all the basic components such as lights, buzzers, voltmeters, emergency stop switches...etc. It can also be equipped with different external devices for different application conditions. In order to reduce additional wiring,a bus interface is reserved all over the body to provide a power and communicatio network for the equipment installed around the body.

Standard section brackets and mounting plates are provided on the top of the platform for customized installation of different components. Various sensor modules can be installed around the body to match the most suitable combination for different application environments.

Secondary Development

SCOUT has an independent master system that controls its own motion and customize complicated operating modes. The main control provides serial/standard CAN bus as a communication interface, which can be connected to differential GPS, inertial navigation system, binocular camera, laser radar and a series of external devices such as infrared/ultrasonic obstacle avoidance sensors. SCOUT also can be used as a mobile platform for application development for more advanced auto-driving systems such as ROS and Apollo platform of Baidu.
